Dad's Night
Kaitlyn and I got to go to Dad's night at her pre-school a couple of weeks ago. We watched a movie and ate popcorn, did a craft, and they had a carnival with different games to play. Kaitlyn's favorite game was the "mat game" - it was a cake walk but you won candy. We had to play 3 times before she won and she kept wanting to play after she already won. Afterwards we went out for ice cream at Culvers, the real highlight of the night.
A couple of nights ago I took Michaela on a date for ice cream and some book reading at Barne's and Noble. I plan on taking my girls out on dates so they know what a guy should treat them like (not that I want them to date or will allow them to! haha).

Meet Abayisenga Foibe
Kaitlyn & Michaela have a new friend from Africa. Her name is Abayisenga Foibe from Rwanda. She is 4 years old and is now being sponsored by the Fink family.
Kaitlyn's heart is very large. When she found out this girl sometimes goes to bed without dinner she was very sad and prayed for her.

Sickness, Valentines Day & No More Diapers!!
Well I think and hope we are all over the sickness in this house. Everyone has had something and finally over it (praying!). Besides sickness, Matt has been traveling more than usual and with 2 classes this semester and the Marriage class he taught in church hasn't had time to update the blog.
Valentines Day was stalled because Anne was sick but all the girls still got flowers. Also the dresses below are from grandparents. Grandma Kathy actually made the green dress that Kaitlyn is wearing. Grandma Sharon bought the other dresses. Anne did feel better the day of Valentines Day and we all went out to dinner.
Potty Training!! Michaela is finally potty trained!!! I can't believe it, we have 2 girls not in diapers anymore! What a wonderful feeling that is. Michaela still needs to be reminded to go but is doing great. Amazing what kids will do for M&M's.
Not much else is happening, enjoy the pictures (the arrangement of flowers are from our church in memory of Grandma Marge).

Been Awhile.
Well it's been awhile since I've updated this (see my reason in Matt's Blog).
Our computer is acting really funny and I have to do this on another computer. So I can't download pictures of the girls or the family. But with all luck we will have a new computer soon thanks to the help of Uncle Mike.
Kindergarten!
Yes, we signed Kaitlyn up for Kindergarten this week. I can't believe next year at this time Kaitlyn will be in Kindergarten and Michaela will be in Pre-School through the high-school (like Kaitlyn did) . Anne will then be home all alone for the first time in 5 years...amazing! I think I know what she will be doing...enjoying the silence.
Sledding.
We went sledding a couple of weeks ago and just have one report. Kaitlyn had her first wipe-out. Did she enjoy it? No. It was pretty cold and she cried but it was something she talked about for awhile. We had fun though. Michaela didn't care for sledding because the snow kept spraying in her face as she and mom went down.
Nothing else new. Things have been pretty quiet around here, which isn't' a bad thing I guess.
Don't forget to check out Matt's blog as well; the link is on the side.

Merry Christmas; Happy New Year; On to 2009!
Okay, it's been awhile since we've posted anything. A lot has happened, a Christmas program for Kailtyn (picture below with her dress and Grandma Sharon's necklace when she was little). Our first big snow of the year; too bad we didn't have a big sleds then because all the snow is gone. We had 4 Christmas parties (all grandparents and uncles below are seen *note still searching for Auntie Karen and Uncle Mike pictures).
The girls had a great Christmas, all the Grandparents provided wonderfully and Santa brought the girls new bikes this year. They enjoyed decorating cookies and the tree this year.
Here is wishing everyone a wonderful New Year and a blessed 2009. Quick highlights of 2008 are: 1. Kaitlyn started pre-school and has flourished. 2. Michaela received inserts for her pigeon toe. 3. The girls turned 4 and 2 respectively. 4. Kaitlyn learned how to ride a bike and pump on the swings. 5. Michaela started talking and is a world class swimmer. 2009 will bring us a 5 year old that will start kindergarten in Kaitlyn and Michaela will turn three and most likely be even more adventurous and crazy.
